What Is Invisalign Treatment?

Invisalign is a cutting-edge orthodontic treatment that straightens teeth and corrects bite alignment. This treatment employs a series of clear, personalized aligners designed to fit tightly and comfortably in your mouth.

Each aligner is worn for around two weeks, gradually adjusting your teeth’s position until it reaches its final position. There are no metal brackets or wires to deal with Invisalign. Furthermore, because the aligners are removable, you can eat and drink whatever you want during treatment.

Who Is A Candidate For Invisalign?

Someone who wants to improve the alignment and bite of their teeth may be a candidate for Invisalign. Your candidacy, however, will be determined by the degree of your misalignment as well as other variables like age and oral health.

In general, Invisalign is suited for anyone from childhood to adulthood.  If you are unsure whether you or someone you know are a candidate for Invisalign, please see Drs. Michael and Taylor Vracar at Redemption Orthodontics.

How Do I Care For My Aligners?

If you want your aligners to work effectively, you must take care of them. Brushing and flossing your teeth before reinserting the aligners into your mouth is essential for long-term success. Furthermore, clean your aligners by rinsing them in lukewarm water after each meal or snack.

Keeping the aligners away from heat is also critical, as it may cause them to warp. If you have any questions during your treatment regarding the care of your aligners, contact the team here at Redemption Orthodontics.

How Long Should I Wear My Aligners Every Day?

You should wear your aligners for at least 20-22 hours per day to achieve optimum results. Outside of eating and brushing your teeth, you can reach your 20-hour minimum.

Taking off your aligners too frequently can compromise treatment effectiveness and cause delays in attaining your desired outcomes.

Does Invisalign Hurt?

Invisalign is generally comfortable to wear; it is normal to feel some pressure or small discomfort while your mouth adjusts to newly placed aligners. However, this should go away after a few hours, and your mouth will adjust to the aligners over time.

Will Wearing Invisalign Clear Aligners Affect My Speech?

Yes, you may experience a change in your speech when wearing Invisalign aligners. However, this should only be temporary, as your mouth will adjust and become accustomed to the aligners over time.

Additionally, it is recommended that you practice speaking while wearing the aligners to help reduce any changes in your speech.
