Redemption Orthodontics wants every patient and visitor to be able to use our website, book an appointment, and reach our team, whatever technology they use. This statement explains what we are doing about accessibility, what we know is not yet right, and how to tell us when something does not work for you.

The standard we work toward

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines are the common benchmark for making web content usable by people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, hearing, cognitive, and motor impairments.

We describe this as what we are working toward rather than something we have finished. Accessibility on a site that changes regularly is ongoing work, and we would rather tell you honestly where we are than claim a standard we have not independently verified.

What we do

  • We review pages for readable text size, colour contrast, and clear headings.
  • We write descriptive text for images that carry meaning.
  • We check that the site can be navigated with a keyboard alone, and that the focus indicator stays visible.
  • We use clear labels on forms and buttons.
  • We test on phones and tablets, not just desktop computers.
  • We review accessibility again whenever we make significant changes to the site.

We do not use an accessibility overlay or automatic “accessibility widget”. Those tools often introduce problems of their own, so we prefer to fix issues in the site itself.

Known limitations

Some parts of our site come from other companies, and we do not control how those are built:

  • The appointment booking and contact forms are provided by PracticeBeacon.
  • The maps of our offices are provided by Google Maps and OpenStreetMap.
  • Videos are hosted on YouTube.

We have raised accessibility with our providers where we can, but if one of these prevents you from doing something, please contact us and we will help you directly. You will never need to use any of them to become or remain a patient.

Older pages and older documents may not yet meet the standard we apply to new content. We are working through them.

Formal complaints

If you have raised an accessibility problem with us and you are not satisfied with our response, please contact us again and ask for the practice manager. We take these concerns seriously and want the chance to put things right.

We review this statement at least once a year, and whenever we make significant changes to the site. The “Last updated” date at the top shows the most recent revision.
